NORTH TORONTO TO STAY IN MEN’S PREMIER

Cyrus Rollocks scored the winner as North Toronto came from behind to beat The Borough 2-1 in the Pro/Rel Playoff.

North Toronto secured their place in the 2026 Men's Premier Division as they came from behind to beat The Borough 2-1 after extra time in the Pro/Rel Playoff.

Cyrus Rollocks scored the eventual winner in the 114th minute, as he continued his impressive debut season for the side and increased his goal tally to 17 in 20 games this year.

The match was an incredible turnaround for North Toronto, who only six days ago were beaten 8-0 by Scrosoppi and came into this game off the back of a difficult season, compared to The Borough who had lost just twice in their first Men's Championship campaign.

With the teams level after the first 45, The Borough's Alex Kuszaj finally broke the deadlock with 63 minutes on the clock after his flick at the near-post from a Hazem Elmarakby cross trickled past the hands of Nicholas Allison to put the Championship side in the driver's seat.

North Toronto responded well however and, 15 minutes later, a deep in-swinging corner was volleyed back into the box by Nico Barros before being expertly chested down by substitute Sufyan Fraj who struck the ball well and found the bottom corner to tie the game.

North Toronto piled on the pressure in the final minutes but couldn't break through, leaving the two teams level at the final whistle and sending the game into extra-time.

Neither side found the net until the 114th minute when another deep cross was brought back into the box by Noah Pickering, before being flicked on by substitute Lucas Dyck and finally meeting the head of Rollocks who powered it past Marcos Gagliano to take the lead.

In the heat of the match, there was a flurry of red cards to finish the game. After Rollocks received a second yellow for his shirtless celebration, The Borough's Ryan Silverstein and North Toronto's Luca Di Marco were sent off as the clock ticked on.

Moments later, the final whistle blew to the relief of North Toronto as they had earned another year in the top division, with The Borough playing Championship football next season.
