Northern Super League stars to kickstart Finals Week
Here’s our guide to the five finals taking place across the next five days in League1 Ontario.

It’s Finals Week in League1 Ontario, with five trophy games planned across five days between July 30 and August 3 at Zanchin Automotive Soccer Centre in Vaughan.
Helping to kickstart Finals Week are five Northern Super League players, who will be taking part in an autograph-signing session between 7:30 and 7:50pm ET for fans attending the Women’s L1 Cup Final on Wednesday. They will also participate in the coin-flip ceremony.
AFC Toronto’s Cloey Uddenberg, Sarah Rollins, Jade Kovacevic, Kaylee Hunter, and Lauren Rowe all starred in League1 Canada competitions in recent years, with Rowe scoring seven goals in 12 appearances across the 2025 League1 Ontario regular season and cup campaign before stepping up to the professional game.

July 30 – Women’s L1 Cup Final
The first of this week’s finals is between North Toronto and Alliance United in the Women’s L1 Cup. Please click here to read the thoughts of the coaches ahead of this highly-anticipated match in the competition calendar.
Alliance come into the final following a 3-0 win against reigning champions FC London in the semifinals. They earned a bye from Round One this season and have enjoyed wins against Guelph United and NDC Ontario in what has been an eye-catching cup run, despite only managing one win in the Women’s Premier this campaign.
North Toronto were taken all the way to penalties by Simcoe County Rovers on July 3 after a goalless 90 minutes; Ashley Campbell then scored the winning penalty to send her side into their second Women’s L1 Cup Final in two years. They were defeated 2-1 by FC London in last season’s final, so they are looking for redemption this time.
Key players to watch for each side will be North Toronto’s Ashley Campbell and Alliance’s Sofia Ferrante, who have both scored three goals in the competition so far.
Both teams have one game left in the regular season, and ironically it is against each other this Friday, with North Toronto chasing NDC Ontario for the Women’s Premier crown and Alliance battling with their cup semifinal opponents FC London to avoid automatic relegation.
August 1 – Men’s League2 Division Final
St Catharines Roma Wolves, who finished second in the Southwest Conference, claimed their place in the Men’s League2 Final after a dramatic win on penalties over reigning champions Vaughan Azzurri.
The Roma Wolves took a 3-1 lead in the semifinal, with Romero Nicolazzo, Lucas Done-Burcea, and Campbell Hastings scoring their three goals. But they were hauled back to level terms by Vaughan as Francesco Panetta scored twice, including a penalty in the third minute of stoppage time to level. Nicolazzo then scored the winner for St Catharines in the shootout.
They will face a Cambridge United side who have enjoyed a dominant inaugural season in League1 Ontario and beat Central Conference winners Burlington to reach the final; Christian Ferraro’s early strike was enough to see off their opposition.
Cambridge are the slight favourites for the trophy after 12 wins from 14 league games, which included a 6-0 victory against their divisional rivals St Catharines, but a 2-0 loss to the Roma Wolves in June will be on their minds too.
August 2 – Men’s U20 League Final
The champions of the Men’s U20 League will be decided between Woodbridge Strikers and FC London after two thrilling semifinals.
The Strikers secured their place in the trophy showdown after a dramatic 4-3 win at Vaughan Azzurri. The home side took a 2-0 lead thanks to goals from Eduardo Ramos and Kayden Dugas, before Leandro Stalteri, Ivan Nechyporuk, and a Gianluca Vecchiarelli brace turned the game on its head to give them a shot at silverware.
FC London and FC Durham played their semifinal on July 30. These two sides both claimed top spot in their respective divisions by a single point, and both mustered 11 wins in the regular season, but it was FC London who edged out a 3-2 win in the playoffs.
The London side who were leading at the 90th-minute mark after a Rees Evans brace, and Aaron Stomp made it 3-1 in stoppage time. A late Jordan Grey penalty then reduced the deficit, but it wasn’t enough for Durham to take the game to a shootout.
August 2 – Women’s U20 League Final
It’s a busy week for teams from North Toronto and Woodbridge Strikers as these two clubs meet in the Women’s U20 League Final. They went toe-to-toe in the Northeast Conference this season, with North Toronto finishing above their opponents by two points.
The Strikers were relentless in their semifinal victory over Hamilton United on July 27, winning 5-0 against the Southwest Conference’s top side. Braces from Brianna Lascano and Ava Villapando, alongside Jade Arruda’s goal, proved too much for Hamilton as Woodbridge head into the final on top form.
A day later, North Toronto claimed their place in the showpiece by defeating Burlington 2-1 at Downsview Park. The away side had taken the lead in the first half through Mikaela Carpino, but Talia Salvador and Alessandra Page turned things around to set up an exciting final.
The sides exchanged wins against each other during the regular season, both winning in their respective away fixtures. North Toronto held the upper hand at the beginning of the year, coming out as 3-2 victors on May 21, but Woodbridge fought back later in the campaign to win 4-3 at Downsview Park, with Brooklyn Lupinacci scoring a late winner.
August 3 – Women’s League2 Final
The fifth final of the week will see another Woodbridge Strikers performance as they face Waterloo United for the Women’s League2 title.
Waterloo comfortably sailed through their semifinal, defeating Alliance United 4-0 at Rim Park. Amaris Machmueller scored a brace, alongside Alexandria Chuong and Alicia McMurren’s goals, to give themselves a chance at more League2 success having already finished top of the Southwest Conference.
Woodbridge had to come back from behind against Railway City after Lily Ryder put the visitors 1-0 up in the 19th minute. Tamara Lisser and Olivia Pillitteri completed the comeback to lock in their club’s third final this week.
Both teams won their respective divisions and reached the 40-mark for goals scored, so this matchup could be cracker to conclude 2025 Finals Week in League1 Ontario.
