Olivia Chisholm named Canada Soccer’s Young Women’s Player of the Year
The NDC Ontario star has earned recognition after an outstanding 2025 at club and international level.

Olivia Chisholm has been named Canada Soccer’s Young Women’s Player of the Year, an award that celebrates the outstanding achievements of rising stars in Canada Soccer’s National Team program.
This year, the NDC Ontario attacking midfielder represented Canada’s U17 and U20 women’s teams at Concacaf level, and captained Canada at the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup in Poland.
During the summer, she made 10 appearances for NDC Ontario in League1 Ontario, scoring two goals, and made her professional debut in the Northern Super League with AFC Toronto.
This award adds to a growing array of honours for Chisholm, who’s 17 games for NDC Ontario in 2024 helped her side win the Women’s Premier Division. She also played a key role in helping Canada win the Concacaf Women’s U20 Championship earlier this year.
Previous winners of this Young Player award include League1 Ontario alumni Jade Rose and Olivia Smith; the former now plays for Manchester City and the latter became the first £1 million women’s player after signing for Arsenal in August.
Jen Herst, who is the head coach of CANW17, said, “Olivia has had an exceptional year for our program. While this recognition is fully deserved for her performances on the field, what truly stands out is the standard she sets off the field and the way she leads her teammates. Her work ethic, tactical intelligence, and physical ability elevate everyone around her, and her accomplishments this year highlight the very bright future she has in Canadian soccer.”
