Women’s league2 crown heads to woodbridge
The Strikers scored four goals against Waterloo United for another convincing victory in Finals Week.

A Sabrina Bisante brace helped Woodbridge Strikers win the Women’s League2 Final with an emphatic 4-0 victory over Waterloo United.
Most of the damage had been done by the half-time whistle with the score at 3-0 and Waterloo already down to 10 players after Shalagh Guha received a red card after 20 minutes, and Telaijah Folkes getting her name in the scoresheet.
It was only Waterloo’s second loss of the season and first since mid-June after they had enjoyed an incredible season in the Southwest Conference, and were 4-0 winners in their semifinal against Alliance United.
Woodbridge who found themselves coming from behind in their semifinal against Railway City, but it wasn’t the case in the trophy decider. With only 17 minutes on the clock, Bisante found herself in on goal after a surgical through ball from Maja Cenanovic carved through the defence and slipped the ball past the Mya Brodrecht to take the early lead.
Barely a minute after the restart, the quick-thinking Bisante was in on goal again until she was brought down by the pursuing Guha, who was punished with a red card for denying a goal-scoring opportunity.
The one-goal advantage stayed for another quarter of an hour until a looping long ball from Mayah Robinson was spilled into the path of Folkes who quickly passed the ball into the back of the net to double the lead for Woodbridge.
Just two minutes later, Bisante’s run was picked out and she was able to skip around the goalkeeper to add a third to the team’s tally before the half-time break.
With Woodbridge seeing out the victory for their club’s third title in two days, the fourth then trickled in not long after the hour mark. Vanessa Kaminski-Ross attempted to win the ball back, but the deflection bounced off her and into her own net as Brodrecht watched on helplessly.
The success was met with elation as Woodbridge were crowned the 2025 Women’s League2 Division winners.
