Weekly Rewind: Resistant at the top
There were no changes at the top of each division after the latest matchweek, with every leading team picking up a victory.

Home comforts
Master’s FA and The Borough’s game was postponed on Thursday, but there was still plenty of action in the Men’s Championship a day later.
York United Academy’s promotion hopes were dented on Friday after a 3-2 defeat at Windsor City. The visitors had a chance to move within two points of The Borough, but an own goal by Baylee Borges, and goals from Songmafolo Coulibay and Seve Oglan gave the hosts their fifth victory of the year, leaving York on 19 points.
Elsewhere, Whitby also enjoyed a Friday in front of a home crowd, beating Guelph United 4-0 at Telus Dome. A Nigel Buckley hat-trick and a first-half goal from Erion Metaj gave the hosts all three points to move them into fifth, and to within one point of the top three.
There was pure entertainment on Friday evening in the Men’s Premier, which saw St Catharines Roma Wolves and Sigma play out a 4-4 tie. The hosts looked to be taking the points when they were 4-2 up heading into injury time, but Dante Ruddock and Josh Garcia completed the comeback in the third and fifth minutes of stoppage time.
There was also one match in the Women’s Premier, with Waterloo tying 1-1 at home to Guelph. Abby Kraemer opened the scoring for the hosts on the 30-minute mark, but Olivia Brown scored her 13th goal of the season to equalize with half an hour to go.
Hanging on
Alliance United have played three more games than Woodbridge behind them in the men’s top tier, but a 2-0 win over FC London ensured they remained top. Dario Klestorny Soto made it 1-0 with 11 minutes to play, before Kingsley Belele scored his eighth goal of 2025 to secure the points.
Woodbridge Strikers have remained hot on the heels of Alliance, though, after beating North Toronto 5-0 away from home. Alexander Santillian opened the scoring in the first half, before Ronaldo Marshall scored a hat-trick alongside Anthony Aromatario’s goal to keep their side in strong contention for the title.

Scrosoppi and Simcoe County Rovers hindered each other’s title hunts as they tied 3-3. The former were the home side and opened the scoring through Nathaniel Susnik, but they found themselves 3-1 down after 21 minutes. However, Tomasz Skublak and Elton Nyumah turned the game around and both sides ultimately shared the spoils.
The Men’s Premier also saw Burlington defeat Oakville 2-0 to leapfrog their opponents and move into the top five. Monti Mohsen and Mohamed al Shakman scored to hand the hosts all three points and their sixth win of the season.
Still on top
Title and promotion hunts continued on Saturday, first in the Women’s Premier, which saw NDC Ontario remain on top after a 4-0 win against FC London. Gabriela Istocki secured a brace, with Olivia Chisholm’s penalty and Ailish Hennessy securing all three points on the road.
Woodbridge Strikers’ home tie with North Mississauga was the other game of the day, with Reese Fowler’s penalty denying the hosts all three points after Meghan McKye’s opener.
Sudbury Cyclones also continued at the summit of their respective division, beating North Mississauga 3-2 in the Men’s Championship. Timi Aliu scored a brace, and Jaiden Santo scored the hosts’ third goal, as they held onto the points after a late scare. The gap to second is now four points.
Pickering claimed their third win of 2025 when they beat Waterloo United away from home. Josiah Green gave the visitors the lead after eight minutes, before Damian Dedekker was sent off for Waterloo. Sam Barrowcliffe did equalize for the hosts before half-time, but Ameer Madden won the game with just over 20 minutes remaining.
The weekend’s Women’s Championship fixtures also kicked off on Saturday, and saw Pickering temporarily go to the top of the standings with a 1-0 win against Whitby. Serena McDonald scored the only goal of the game to move above Scrosoppi, who played a day later.
There was an entertaining match at Sheridan Trafalgar Campus, as Rush Canada Academy tied 2-2 with Unionville Milliken. The former led twice through Sienna Diblasio and Caitlyn Gratton, but Ines Delhomelle and Jessica Hill fought back to secure a point.
Not giving up
The Borough stayed within four points of top spot in the Men’s second tier after a goal from Alex Gharibo gave them a 1-0 win against Hamilton on Sunday, on the back of Thursday’s postponed game.
Unionville Milliken also enjoyed a winning weekend, beating Master’s FA 3-0 at Centennial College. A George Akpabio brace and Omar Marzouk’s goal moved the home side into third, and dented the visitors’ chances of promotion.
Simcoe County Rovers remained within one point of NDC Ontario with a 2-0 away win at Vaughan Azzurri. The visitors lost top spot a couple of weeks ago, but Ally Rowe’s first-half brace gave them all three points to continue a close title fight.
North Toronto lost ground on the top two after tying 1-1 with Alliance United on the road. They nearly left Downsview Park with nothing, but Elise Bell scored in the fourth minute of injury time to cancel out Vita Naihin’s opener.
The final matches of the weekend were identical results, with Oakville beating Burlington 4-1 in the Women’s Championship, and Scrosoppi winning by the same margin against Tecumseh United to retake first place.
League2 update
Cambridge United remained at the top of the Men’s Southwest Conference in League2 on Sunday with a 3-0 win against Hamilton United. A day earlier in the Central Conference, Rush Canada Academy were defeated 2-1 by Burlington.
In the Women’s Northeast Conference on Saturday, Sudbury Cyclones enjoyed a 2-1 victory over Simcoe County Rovers, and in the Southwest Conference a day later, Railway City won 4-0 against St Catharines while Cambridge United won 2-1 at FC London.
